[14] Family portraits

If you’re a wedding or portrait photographer, you probably know what I’m talking about when I say that November is officially “family portrait month”! It means it’s crunch time before the holidays, and the nicest beaches around here are usually full of people in matching shirts and jeans getting their photos done for seasonal greeting cards.

On Saturday I photographed Steve and Marlee and their three kids, who wowed me with their excellent behavior for family pictures (hey, I remember having them done when I was their age, too—getting dressed up and sitting still isn’t lots of fun!) It was cool though, because they got to run around by the low tide at the end of the session and work all that kid-ly energy out of their system! Marlee is the sister of Emily, whose wedding I photographed in April.

Looks like another sunny holiday season in Southern CA!

Eric is such an impressive big brother, always holding the younger kids’ hands when they needed supervision and such.

Kelly, the queen bee!

And who can forget Andrew, the mellowest baby I’ve ever met. I’ve never seen another kid his age who while keep looking at the camera even when you’re just clicking away and not actually doing anything interesting!
