Sarah & Chris

Last Saturday I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Sarah and Chris’s wedding at the beautiful Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine. I have so many favorites from this wedding that I am beside myself…my apologies in advance for the deluge of images, I just love way too many of them!

I highly approve of Sarah’s shoe choice, because she opted for the same thing I would—comfort!

I was touched to see that Sarah had written a loving note to her father.

The hairstyles were masterfully done by Billie from Hair Comes The Bride.

She sure picked a jaw-dropper of a dress, too!

WOWZA. She sure is photogenic. She really reminded me of the models you see in surfwear ads, with the sunkissed freckles and windsplashed hair.

Now that’s what I call a bevy!

Aww

Sarah at the Farm’s windmill.

The whole party in front of the barn!

Chris slyly sneaking in for a kiss!

Oooo!

Some lovely ceremony area detail…

I’ve met a lot of brides that are very nervous on their wedding day, but Sarah was truly excited to get married!

Sarah’s mother getting a little emotional…

Sarah’s parents during the ceremony.

Sarah reacts to her brother and sister-in-law reading during the ceremony.

One of Sarah’s grandmothers, also getting a little emotional.

Man and wife!

Who needs an actual grad filter when there’s good ol’ Photoshop instead?

The reception was in the barn, which was really awesome. This bridesmaid and groomsman struck a pose during their grand entrance, hehehe!

Sarah & Chris’s grand entrance… I LOVE this shot!

They wanted to strike a funny pose, too!

Cake-TACULAR! They also opted to have their surname initial topping it, and I’m beginning to think that’s the new “thing” for wedding cake toppers, as it’s the second time I’ve seen that sort of decoration.

The first dance. The barn door provided some truly beautiful lighting, those Strawberry Farm people knew exactly what they were doing :)

I have such a raging sweet tooth, I was SO EXCITED to discover that there was a candy bar!!! …(not bar like a Hershey bar, a bar like a pub)

Sarah during one of the relative dances.

Father/daughter dance.

Sarah preparing to toss her bouquet…

Hahah, what an expressive girl! Sarah looks just as excited as Chris about the garter removal :D

Andrea & Bryant

This Saturday I photographed Andrea & Bryant’s wedding on Newport Harbor.

Andrea only had a few minutes to prep in the captain’s quarters, but that didn’t mute the excited glow on her face!

Bridesmaids bustling around her.

I’m beginning to discover that one of my strongest points during a wedding day shoot are the bridal suite preparation shots, usually because they are in hotel rooms or somewhere with a big window that just permeates the room with a fantastic glimmer, which really enhances the mood. Just gimme some of that sweet, sweet windowlight, baby!

She had an AMAZING train with her dress…!

Ooh la la!

Andrea certainly makes a super-cute bride!

She was also furnished with two bouquets, one for ‘tossing’ at the reception, and one to hold during the ceremony. We scrutinized both, and decided that this one was the prettier of the two!

Another shot to fuel my love affair with cake. Check out those little shells decorating it…

…they’re not plastic or wax, which is what I thought when I first saw them on a wedding cake a few years ago. They’re actually white chocolate…and SOOO GOOD!

From engaged to newlyweds, just like that!

Bryant

…I think those two would look great as two sides of the same album spread!

My favorite shot. It’s kind of daring thing to do with exposure for a portrait, but I ADORE the concept. It makes me think of it not as a portrait of two people, but instead a portrait of two halves of one soul…

Andrea’s maid of honor getting a little choked up during the reception.

Wow! Bryant specially requested these…he certainly has refined taste!

This was just a candid that I snapped on the bow at dusk…Andrea and Bryant picked a beautiful evening to get married, it must have been 75 degrees out on the water…sooo nice!

Leslie & Steve

When I was finished with Jennifer & Bruce’s party I had to hustle over to the Costa Mesa Country Club to second for Leslie and Steve’s wedding…June 23 was a double-header day!

Leslie and Steve were bubbly and excited and full of fun and personality, and so were all their friends and family…they had a wonderfully enjoyable wedding :D

Steve

Leslie getting her groove on.

All dolled up!

Some of her beauty details:

I love the ribbon on this bouquet, it looks so elegant!

This is HILARIOUS. Leslie took one of her bridesmaids with her into the bathroom stall and at the giggling prompt of her other attendants I snapped a picture of her feet while she was in there as a joke.

One of my favorites, of Leslie adjusting her garter. She has FANTASTIC legs!

Overcome with emotion at the sight of her baby sibling in a wedding dress, Leslie’s sister had to turn away for a moment.

I thought the bridesmaid bouquets were fun and colorful! I like the little flower sprigs =D

A detail of the bridesmaid dresses.

Just like Leslie and Steve, the bridal party was full of laughter and merriment. I caught this just before the processional down the aisle, and I think it captures the mood of the camaraderie of everyone in attendance just so well.

A very groomy angle.

Leslie’s mom rejoices in the dressing room after the ceremony.

One of Steve’s groomsmen gets a little carried away!

Another eye-popping cake =)

Jennifer & Bruce (reception only)

A couple weeks ago I was second shooter for an elopement reception at Newport Dunes. The couple, Jennifer and Bruce, got married in a private ceremony a few months prior, and threw a small party for their family and friends to celebrate in Newport Beach. So we didn’t shoot any ceremony or formal dress…we were just there for the party!

Another gorgeous Southern California venue!

Jennifer and Bruce’s kids with their grandmother, watching the couple dance….doesn’t the daughter on the far right look like Paris Hilton??

Turns out that Bruce plays djembe! He started jamming with the DJ for the guests.

Jennifer dancing while Bruce rocks out.

I thought this was TERRIBLY cute…Grandma and Grandpa, still together, watching the newlyweds dance.

Jennifer agreed to sing some karaoke with two of her daughters (I spy Paris Hilton again!)

The family making their grand exit in one of the resort’s golf carts.

Lindsey & Mike

On June 13 (am I behind or what!) I helped shoot Lindsey & Mike’s wedding at Tivoli Terrace in Laguna Beach, CA. Their wedding was unique if anything because they got married on a Wednesday!

Would ya take a look at those curls!

Bubbly bridesmaids!

Mike with his motley crew.

I thought this was pretty cool—Mike’s last name begins with an ‘F,’ so they had the initial engraved in a stamp and used wax seals on the programs. Wax seals are so classic, I thought it was awesome.

Mike during the ceremony.

Lindsey

Grandma during the ceremony. I love the emotion on her face…

Their grand entrance to the reception, haha!

Toast time

The color theme Lindsey wanted was pink of course…in case you couldn’t tell :)

One of my favorite shots of the whole day

Lindsey eggs Mike onward during her garter removal

A party is going to be a total all-night rager when a conga line forms…
