Ever notice how the fast food you’re served never looks like the food in the advertisement photos? The West Virginia Surf Report has a little ongoing photo project about that in Ads vs. Reality.

I think it’s neat because the project is both an impressive demonstration of how influential good food/advertising photography can be, and at the same time it’s a slam against fast food, which is just gross on all levels anyway.

Hopefully everyone’s having a great holiday season! I know this blog’s been a little quiet lately, but that’s because I’m working on entire new definitions of B-U-S-Y!!!

Luckily, I did all my shopping online and EARLY this year, whew =) I can’t wait for Christmas!

What a week! It was one shoot after another and a good time at each! Because it was such a whirlwind, I’ll try to cut down on the photos and just post a few of my favorites from each shoot:

My aunt and uncle hired me to do some family portraits, including some shots of their little girls (my cousins!)

Family portraits for fellow photographer Xuong and his family.

A rare moment of tranquility for Xuong’s son Connor. And I mean rare. The kid is a living blur. I get tired just watching him go!

Tuesday
A shoot with Melissa, who wanted to do some fun beach shots of her for holiday greeting cards. Lucky for us it was a GORGEOUS sunset in Newport Beach that day!

…We’re expecting more rain here tomorrow and/or Friday (and boy, how we need it, hooray!). To get us through the rain, there’s this reminder of what comes afterward here in OC:

One of my myriad portrait shoots this weekend was of Emily, now pregnant with her second lil’ bundle of joy! I drove to Emily’s house in the POURING RAIN, and kicked off the session with some pics of her daughter Natalie:

Emily, RE-DEFINING “hot mama!” What a smokin’ portrait, I love this one.

Baby Justin is due in January and I’m excited to do his newborn portraits—I’ve already got some cute ideas!

Justin isn’t even here yet and he already has one heck of a nursery…I’m kind of jealous, I wish my room was as cool has his.
