We sure have been getting a lot of rain the past few weeks. And according to the forecasts…more to come!
It’s funny. Southern CA is technically a desert, so everyone who lives here is always so happy when it rains!

Went to a Mercury Rev concert in WeHo last night. Craaaaazy visuals. Check out what I got with my cheap P&S:

I recommend their concerts just for the sweet visual effects. But not for the sound. It sucks that so many concerts are so loud that the music doesn’t even sound how it does on the band’s recordings. I usually bring earplugs.
The only concert I’ve ever been to that wasn’t deafening was Elbow at the Avalon back in the springtime. That was an amazing show on all levels. Spectacular band. Didn’t need earplugs even on the floor. STUUUUU-pendous.
In other news, my friend Vu and his brother Lan are encouraging me to blog more videos. What do you think? Should I?
It’s a rare rainy day here, luckily you can still do things:

YAY!! It’s that time again! Time for more Orange County Humane Society dogs and cats! Debbie, the director of this particular HS branch, told me that the shelter has had an influx of interested pet owners over the past month, maybe for the holidays. Additionally on average they adopt out about 25 pets a week (which is great!!), so there’s no guarantee that any of the pets pictured here on my blog will be there by the time you stop by…especially the small cute ones. BUT they are ALWAYS getting in new animals and sometimes it’s a few weeks before I can get in to photograph them, so it’s worth a visit anyway—because obviously they will ALWAYS have a number of great, adorable pets! I’m just the person who captures a few of those faces now and again. Anyhoo…onward!

Then there’s Shorty, who has such a funny smile

Awww, and Mandy the chihuahua, who will probably be snapped up pretty quickly

Poor shy Brownie, who I photographed last time, was so terrified of the the “click” noise from my camera that we actually had to reshoot her pictures. She’s a sweetie-pie mama dog.

Kipper, the waggiest dog in the shelter. He’s on the fast track to becoming the “Featured Dog,” with that friendly tail of his, I can tell you.

Kipper again

Timmy, such a smiley pup (also the first picture)!

Fiona the pup

Sad-eyed little Ralphie the German Shepherd mix puppy…see how badly he wants someone to hug him this Christmas!

Carlita has a brown eye and a icy blue eye, AND she knows how to shake (here she shows off her skillz)

We can’t forget the cats!! This is the ever-beautimous Winter.

Rascal knows how to strike a pose…kitties are naturally statuesque, after all.

Lil’ Blitzen. The OCHS employees tell me that black cats are the hardest to place in homes. Maybe because even in the 21st century people are superstitious?? PUH-LEEZ, PEOPLE. Blitzen is just as lovable as any other color kitty!
And it’s loverly ![]()

In daylight.
Fo’serious. Noble Firs are the best of the best of the best. Sometimes I wish Southern CA had more snow just so we could see more Noble Firs blanketed in it. They are the most beautiful trees with snow on them.
I meant to post these days ago, but my internet took a nosedive this week and I was in WITHDRAWL!! It was horrible, thank you verrah much, Time Warner! Bah. But I’m back, with images of six-week-old Aiden!

So expressive!

Aw, looks like somebody was sidelined when Aiden arrived!
