Hahah, here’s a treat: video! I got a P&S camera for Xmas that also shoots video so there may be more and more little snippets o’ REAL LIFE MOLLY floating around out there in cyberspace in the future!

For now, here’s a clip I shot out of my window today…rain!! I live in Southern CA, basically between the beach and the desert, and our annual rainfall is pretty minimal. But a massive storm blew in from Canada this past week and last night on the news it was announced that SoCal has officially gotten more rain this year (all 27 days of it, whoopee) than Seattle! I’m sure anyone who lives somewhere that gets REAL weather regularly will probably find this clip hilarious; you’ve gotta understand that when it rains in Southern CA, life stands still, we’re just not as used to it. Any storm is “breaking news” and the “top story” for all local broadcasts, people drive 20 mph on the freeways, and I shoot video of it, lol.

Also, this is pretty cool. It’s kind of like choose your own adventure, only with photography. Check it out if you’re looking for some great pictures assorted by overall color.

[28] Engagement shots

Erin & Jack have to be the wittiest couple ever…I consider myself pretty funny sometimes, but I have NOTHING on these two…who needs television writers when you’re having a great engagement shoot with such a HILARIOUS couple?? I mean, it was nonstop banter. Totally fun.

They both like to read, so we started off with some furtive pictures in a local library. I won’t say which one because I like to read too, and I don’t want any librarians to read this and revoke my membership or anything!!

Hahah…out of all the books on the shelves… =)

It may be a more unusual shoot location, but I like incorporating personalities and interests into any shoot!

We went outside the library to a park area to continue the shoot before it got dark.

I always love a good clump of cat-tails.

What couple of goofs! I can’t wait for their wedding in August!

I really like “walking off into the sunset together” type shots, they seem so classic and cinematic.

Again, SILLIES!!

Hahaha, they picked up some sticks and started a sword/lightsaber fight…can we say funnest couple evahr??

VICTORY!!

Erin is such a goof!

In conversation I asked if they had any special talents they wanted to show off for me, and Erin answered, “No, we’re pretty boring average people.” Then Jack picked up a couple seedpods and started to juggle

…And then tossed them over to Erin who kept up the juggling! “Average boring people,” YEAH RIGHT!! Can’t say I’ve met any other couples that can both JUGGLE!

Jack trying to sneak up on Erin (she was wise to it tho…sharp cookie!)

We’ve had some uncharacteristically stormy weather here, but it can make for great sunsets!!

:D

[23] Newborn images

Before…

…After!

Baby Justin arrived a week early on January 12, we had to bump up his newborn shoot!

I’ve been waiting for Justin ever since his mommy Emily’s maternity shoot in late November.

Apparently Justin is an “unusually sleepy” baby, but he was wide awake for most of the session. Maybe because we kept changing his clothes or touching his teeny little feet!

Awww!

With his big sister Natalie!

Piggies!

“ZZZZZ”

During the “in between”s of the session when Justin was being changed or fed, I got some shots of Natalie playing with her bubble toy outside…

…And their new kitten that they got for Christmas!

karen & travis

Last week I was l had the supreme pleasure of shooting Karen and Travis’ wedding with Justin. What a fun couple! By the time we showed up they were already bringing six packs of beer up to Karen’s dressing room, haha!

Incidentally, since it’s a new year I decided to experiment on this wedding with some “new looks” I’ve been playing around with. I used some self-developed Photoshop coloring on all of the following. Tell me what you guys think!

The groom’s daughter Autumn was the flower girl

Zipper issues!

Karen

Travis’ reaction to Karen in all her finery!

The junior bridesmaid Madison…I loved what they did with her hair!

Karen and Travis are huge soccer fans, and Karen showed off some of her skillz!

This little ring bearer was an absolute gas during the ceremony. I wanted to just keep my lens trained on him for the whole thing!

Karen’s sister gets a little choked up during the toasts.
