In early May Wendy and Sean, overwhelmed by the stress of planning a large autumn wedding, scrapped their original ideas altogether and began conceptualizing something that, in their own words, “just felt right.” Instead of September, they re-arranged their plans for May 30, Memorial Day. Instead of a large, raging party, they invited only family members and close friends. Instead of an event venue, they selected Oak Canyon Nature Center for the ceremony and Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill for an intimate dinner with their loved ones afterwards. The result was a highly personalized and heartfelt union under a canopy of oak branches…really, just perfect. And so perfectly Wendy and Sean, too!
Being a graphic designer herself, Wendy has an eye for texture and style and created much of the wedding day look herself…with the aid and expertise of Jessica and Ryan from ZOe Productions, of course!
In addition to being lovers of the great outdoors, Wendy and Sean are both avid video gamers, so it was no surprise that Wendy walked down the aisle to music from the game “Legend of Zelda,” or that Sean kept “Sumu” (a toy mamegoma that frequently travels with the couple) in his pocket the whole day.
Wendy’s glorious styling was by the talented Lisa O’Connor from Elements of Artistry.
Dinner for guests afterwards was at Wood Ranch. I joked with Matt that despite working on Memorial Day we got some BBQ after all!
