We've had a full plate this past month! Recently we began the move into a new showroom which we've been renovating ourselves, so you can imagine how time-consuming that is when you continue to work full time in addition to that! Here's a little taste of some of what has kept us occupied:This lovely lady found us on Yelp and came looking for some pretty portraits of herself. I like to think of this type of portraiture as an "empowerment session," because it's such a confidence-booster to get some pictures taken when you're looking and feeling gorgeous! Last month our stylish friends Nancy and Mars over at Glam Event Stylist also opened the doors of their brand new showroom in Lomita. We were on deck for their fancy grand opening, and even won a bottle of wine in the raffle!I also did some professional headshots for Charlie, an energy engineer who needed some nice photos to submit for some upcoming speaking engagements. The 'headshot' photo on the left was necessary for what was required by some of the organizations he had in mind. The 'lifestyle' photo on the right I much prefer, and only took after talking up how much everyone needs a good lifestyle portrait of themselves. I'm glad he went for it! We also photographed a sweet-16 birthday party in Redondo Beach last month. Talk about ALL-OUT! Dinner, dancefloor, design by Always Perpekto!, chocolate fountain, and even our special Open-Air Photobooth! What a month!
The Board at the Pasadena Playhouse was apparently tired of the same-ol' same-ol' fundraisers, so for this one they just threw a big party for their patrons. A little evening music from Wayne Foster Entertainment, some Playhouse musical performances, gorgeous table designs from My Flower Guy, a cigar lounge, signature beverages, and STELLAR food and dessert from The Kitchen for Exploring Foods. Sounds like a winning formula to empty wallets if you ask me! Here are some of our favorite pictures from the evening's festivities, held at a private estate in the exclusive San Marino neighborhood:
When the National Health Foundation hosts events like the Hospital Hero Awards to honor outstanding individuals in the nursing field, you're sure to hear some inspiring stories and meet some people who really, really make a difference. Another great event celebrating great people. The event itself was bathed in rich golden hues, designed by Simply Mumtaz Events and executed by J&M Entertainment, at the Downtown Los Angeles Marriott.
ABC consumer reports specialist Ric Romero hosted the luncheon.
This week Matt and I had the pleasure of documenting the ISES Los Angeles chapter's 2011 Special Events Awards Party, which honored achievements of its members in the field of special event production. It was great to see our talented peers nominated and recognized for their skills, and truly a delight photographing at Pandora on Green...the light is fabulous at that venue. Really hard to take a bad picture when the light is so delish.Vendors Involved:Planning | Simply Mumtaz EventsVenue, Food & Beverage | Pandora on GreenRentals | Town & Country RentalsChairs | Chameleon ChairsEntertainment | Leonard Neil ProductionsSpecial Event Staffing | Red Carpet Event StaffVideo Production | GLI Video ProductionLinens | Elegant Designs & Specialty LinensFlorist | Wisteria LaneRentals | Classic Party RentalsLighting & Production | J & M EntertainmentRing Box Decór | Tiffany & Co.
Good times at the Westin Bonaventure in downtown Los Angeles last week with Simply Mumtaz Events, who produced a stellar luncheon for Central City Association of Los Angeles', 17th Annual "Treasures of Los Angeles" function.
It was a fabulously successful event with a good deal of talk from Los Angelean movers and shakers who have big plans for downtown. Can't wait to see a lot of it happen!
This week Matt and I photographed the 36th Annual Coro Crystal Eagle Awards at the Downtown Marriott. It was an interesting event pulled together and run by the ever-skillful staff of Simply Mumtaz, with several prominent public figures in attendance.Jennifer and Joella sure know how to put on an interesting event! Last time it was an artistic camel, this time...government officials! What next? Better stay tuned...
Good thing there was no one else in the room when I received Jennifer's praise this afternoon regarding a tribute dinner I photographed for Simply Mumtaz a couple weeks ago. They surely would have seen me blush like a schoolgirl! Thanks again to Jennifer & Joella from Simply Mumtaz for trusting me to capture this important event for them and the dignitaries at the National Health Foundation!
Can I just say, I love museums. More people need to get married in them, and hire Joella & Jennifer of Simply Mumtaz Events to spiff it up like they did for the National Health Foundation's tribute dinner for UCLA Hospital System CEO & Associate Vice-Chancellor Dr. David Feinberg at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles this week.
