One thing Jaymee and Mike pull off easily is looking effortlessly glam, with a lengthy veil, lace-sleeved dress, and classic Rolls Royce. Glam is actually a pretty good way to describe the whole wedding, in fact!Venue (ceremony): St. Kilian Catholic ChurchVenue (reception): Dove Canyon Golf ClubWedding Planning: Ciao Bella Wedding Planning & EventsFloral Design: Cargo CreativeVideography: Sparkle FilmsClassic Car: Classy Chassis RentalsLighting & Drapery: Illuminated EventsLive Music: West Coast Music Beverly HillsHair & Makeup: OC Hair & Makeup
A stellar engagement ring, a ladykiller of a ring bearer, the poofiest most Sex-in-the-City veil I've ever laid eyes on, and a massive mouthwatering buffet including a humongous seafood spread---all could be found at Sloane and Kevin's wedding. Honorable mention: the gorgeous August afternoon weather!Venue: Pacific Club in Newport Beach, CAFlorals: Petal to the MetalDJ: Playtime AttractionsBride's Shoes: Charlotte Olympia
I am embarrassed to admit that in TWO separate moments of total mental weakness during this session I slipped and addressed Brittany as "Julia" because I think she looks so much like Julia Stiles from certain angles/expressions. These two wanted some nice springtime foliage with their engagement session so it was fabulous that in addition to beautiful sunshine, we recently had some nice heavy rains that resulted in gorgeous blooms and greenery abounding for their photoshoot! Now I can't wait to see what else their good luck will bring them during their wedding this June!
Adara and Tom wanted to model their wedding after the relaxed good-times feeling they typically enjoy at music festivals, so it was no surprise they picked an offbeat ranch-style estate as their venue, ordered wild-looking arrangements from their florist, used a food truck for their dinner, and a live band for their guests' entertainment. Attendees were also treated to an open bar, a massive and delicious wedding cake designed by a friend (complete with sweet marzipan mushrooms), and of course our Open-Air Photobooth with nerdy props nodding to Tom's love for Doctor Who and comic books. Last October it was pretty hot almost all month, so I was concerned it might be an uncomfortable day so far from the beach air---however the weather turned out amazing! Mild temperature, beautiful sunlight filtering through the trees for their ceremony and photo sessions, and a cool breeze at night to level off guests as they got down on the dance floor! Looks like Adara and Tom ordered up the most fabulous wedding day possible!Venue: The Fire Garden, Bonsall, CACoordination: Neon Carrot EventsFloral Design: Third BloomCaterer: Miho GastroTruckCake: Kim CraneLive Music: Leroy & the Bad Bad BrownsBride's dress: Amy MichelsonBride's jewelry "sandals": Jewelry by Sedra
Love how the bridesmaid dresses differ in style and color!
Apparently Tom's suit was delivered without pants, which made for a funny pre-ceremony story!
Adara included a delicate lace kerchief heirloom wrapped around her bouquet.I couldn't get enough of Adara's hippie-couture personal style! It was so perfect for their relaxed wedding feel.Adara & Tom's dog, Bodhi, also participated.
The back of Adara's dress!! So dreamy.
A perfectly pastel wedding party
More Open-Air PhotoBooth! MOOOOORRE
Congrats to Tom and Adara on a gorgeous wedding with some chillaxed music festival flair!
You would never believe how hot it was in Orange by looking at the photos our associate photographers Carolyn and Nathan took of their wedding party. I love how down-to-earth and mellow Lori and Nick are! I think Matt and I somehow attract all the coolest couples who don't sweat it when their wedding schedule gets a little crazy and the weather gets a little hot and humid. Gorrrrrrrggeeeeouuuuss light and springtime greenery for Nallely and Ivan's engagement session, which is exactly what the couple (getting married this June with an ocean view!) had in mind. This location is my new favorite "secret spot," at least for the springtime when everything is soft and lush!Check out all the widlife we saw during this session! It was so exciting to spot coyotes, toads, woodpeckers, stink bugs, rabbits, and wild parakeets. It must be spring because everyone is out and about on the trails!
Quick preview pic from this weekend's e-sesh with Amy & Coleman. "Photo Hour" at the beach was far less crowded than I anticipated for Thanksgiving weekend, and on top of that is was nice, comfortable temperature that day. Gotta love November in SoCal...
Last month Matt and I were truly saddened to hear that Steve, the father of our May 30th client Wendy, passed suddenly during a motorbiking expedition in his native South Africa. Shortly thereafter, Wendy designated her favorite picture of the two of them together (which we created at her wedding) as her new profile picture on Facebook in his memory. We only met Steve on Wendy's wedding day, but he was a bright spark of a personality, full of mischievous grins, funny suggestions for photos, and visibly beaming with love, joy, and pride for his daughter that day. Matt and I glad to have met him, and are so, so honored that our images of him with his family on Wendy and Sean's wedding day are treasured by Wendy and her family. This is among those times where it's hard to express the value of moments captured like this one, and how rewarding it is for us as photographers to have been able to give Wendy and Sean something that is so important to them, especially now.Rest in peace, Steve!
