girls namesAll of Carol's single girl friends wrote their names on the bottoms of Carol's shoes---custom dictates that the first to rub off will be the next to marry!

shoe ceremonyAnother custom: Some of Pete's male relatives/friends delivered Carol's shoes and helped her put them on. She pretended they didn't fit, so they had to stuff them with money!

Meet me at the churchOnce at the church, there was a traditional "tug of war" as the bride made her way up the steps slowly, trying to get Pete to meet her halfway.

Greece Wedding Photos (part 2)

I know, I know. Who needs excuse to head to Greece for a party?  Pete (a first-gen Greek American), and Carol certainly didn't think twice, and were the talk of Preveza, the town where they wed in late July.We took a bajillion awesome images that I am very proud of, so in an effort to prevent a blog-crushing image-heavy post, this is the second of three blog installments regarding Carol & Pete's wedding!Map

Passport invitationThe passport-style wedding invitations were produced by Kate, a British invitation designer.

lefkada beachA few days before the wedding, Carol and Pete treated their guests to a boat tour of some nearby islands, including Lefkada. Isn't that beach just stunning?? Where does the sky end and the sea begin?

water salutePete. I think I made a similar gesture when I got in the water, too!

Greek glendiPete's family also hosted a lamb roast "glendi" as a type of rehearsal dinner the evening before the wedding.
