This one was a pretty exciting adventure. A wedding ceremony on a sailboat cruising around the San Diego harbor! Perfect for adventurous, outside-the-box thinkers like Rachel and Bob (outside-the-box thinking also clearly depicted by Bob's amazing Yoda socks).Venue: Marriott Marquis, San Diego, and the San Diego Bay
Adara and Tom wanted to model their wedding after the relaxed good-times feeling they typically enjoy at music festivals, so it was no surprise they picked an offbeat ranch-style estate as their venue, ordered wild-looking arrangements from their florist, used a food truck for their dinner, and a live band for their guests' entertainment. Attendees were also treated to an open bar, a massive and delicious wedding cake designed by a friend (complete with sweet marzipan mushrooms), and of course our Open-Air Photobooth with nerdy props nodding to Tom's love for Doctor Who and comic books. Last October it was pretty hot almost all month, so I was concerned it might be an uncomfortable day so far from the beach air---however the weather turned out amazing! Mild temperature, beautiful sunlight filtering through the trees for their ceremony and photo sessions, and a cool breeze at night to level off guests as they got down on the dance floor! Looks like Adara and Tom ordered up the most fabulous wedding day possible!Venue: The Fire Garden, Bonsall, CACoordination: Neon Carrot EventsFloral Design: Third BloomCaterer: Miho GastroTruckCake: Kim CraneLive Music: Leroy & the Bad Bad BrownsBride's dress: Amy MichelsonBride's jewelry "sandals": Jewelry by Sedra
Love how the bridesmaid dresses differ in style and color!
Apparently Tom's suit was delivered without pants, which made for a funny pre-ceremony story!
Adara included a delicate lace kerchief heirloom wrapped around her bouquet.I couldn't get enough of Adara's hippie-couture personal style! It was so perfect for their relaxed wedding feel.Adara & Tom's dog, Bodhi, also participated.
The back of Adara's dress!! So dreamy.
A perfectly pastel wedding party
More Open-Air PhotoBooth! MOOOOORRE
Congrats to Tom and Adara on a gorgeous wedding with some chillaxed music festival flair!
Earlier this month we had the pleasure of photographing Angela and Trevor's wedding down in San Diego. I have been friends with Trevor since high school, and am so happy to see them so happy together, the pair are just perfect for each other. They met on a Disneyland outing through mutual friends and have since enjoyed many dates at Disneyland (including when Trevor proposed), thus Disney details were appropriately sprinkled throughout their wedding. This included a little Cinderella carriage charm which re-appeared every once in a while, as well as Fast Pass seating cards at the reception tables, and of course Mickey-ear bride and groom hats. The two of them are also enthusiastic dancers, who made sure their wedding party had comfortable Converse sneakers at the ready for the dancefloor, and also coordinated a flash-mob number shortly after their reception began.Venue (Ceremony): St. Mary Catholic ChurchVenue (Reception): Museum of Photographic Art, Balboa ParkHair & Makeup: Leeland Tatta, Jean Claude Salon & SpaFlowers: Adelaide's FlowersCake: Flour Power CakeryDJ: B-Boy Productions, Inc.Video: Forty-One TwentyCoordination: JSJ DesignsCatering: The Abbey Catering Trevor's reaction to seeing Angela for the first time is one of my favorite sequences to date. So touching!Angela surprised Trevor when she revealed that the full-length portion of her dress was actually removable, so she was better able to move and dance at the reception.Hadouken-ing!! That's an actual thing, did you know?Trevor is a UCLA Bruin and Angela is a USC Trojan, so in honor of Mother's Day (the same weekend), the couple gifted each of their mothers with college tees from their kids' other school.Congrats, Trevor and Angela! Such an awesome event and so perfectly personalized!
The number one thing a photographer loves to hear from the mouths of his or her couple on the wedding day is exactly what our bride Jodi kept repeating to us all day long whenever we approached her with an idea: "I'm in." Enthusiasm was written all over her face as well as her new husband Vince's throughout their intimate wedding in Fallbrook, attended solely by family and close friends; the couple is following up with a raging bash in early October for the rest of the special people in their lives!Venue: Pala Mesa ResortTransportation: Classic LimosCake: Cute CakesFloral: Sheri's FlowersStylist: Gayle GoodrichOfficiants: Ken & AmyDan of Classic Limos was on-site to deliver this restored historic motorcar. At one point he beamed proudly to me, "this is the only operating 1927 Packard available for rent to the public in the entire country!"Vince's gift to his groomsmen: Pumpkin-splittingly sharp samurai swords. I think I held my breath for every pose they struck---I was so sure someone was going to be losing an arm.Instead of bouquets, Jodie opted for lightweight corsages with matching emerald-colored lace hand fans for her bridesmads.Congrats to Jodi & Vince! Can't wait for your party next month!
Sweltering heat, an adorable Australian shepherd pup, hints of Angels red, and copious amounts of wine---all necessary for Sarah and Alex's wine country wedding, beautifully photographed by our associates Carolyn and Michelle! Eva & Andrew were wed last week in a gorgeous private residence right on the sand in Laguna Beach. It was the hottest day of the week, but that only made for a more beautiful beach day!Dining service for the event was provided by the ever-scrumptious Jay's Catering, hair and makeup by Lisa Liu, flowers by Dana Belinda, cake designed by Cinderella Cakes, wedding service officiated by Rev. Chip Fisher, and ceremony music by Karen the cellist from Breezy Strings.
