Laguna Beach wedding photography

Eva & Andrew were wed last week in a gorgeous private residence right on the sand in Laguna Beach.  It was the hottest day of the week, but that only made for a more beautiful beach day!Dining service for the event was provided by the ever-scrumptious Jay's Catering, hair and makeup by Lisa Liu, flowers by Dana Belinda, cake designed by Cinderella Cakes, wedding service officiated by Rev. Chip Fisher, and ceremony music by Karen the cellist from Breezy Strings.wedding canopybeach day

Greece Wedding Photos (part 2)

I know, I know. Who needs excuse to head to Greece for a party?  Pete (a first-gen Greek American), and Carol certainly didn't think twice, and were the talk of Preveza, the town where they wed in late July.We took a bajillion awesome images that I am very proud of, so in an effort to prevent a blog-crushing image-heavy post, this is the second of three blog installments regarding Carol & Pete's wedding!Map

Passport invitationThe passport-style wedding invitations were produced by Kate, a British invitation designer.

lefkada beachA few days before the wedding, Carol and Pete treated their guests to a boat tour of some nearby islands, including Lefkada. Isn't that beach just stunning?? Where does the sky end and the sea begin?

Greek glendiPete's family also hosted a lamb roast "glendi" as a type of rehearsal dinner the evening before the wedding.

Andrea & Zach: Trash the Dress

Matt & I photographed Andrea & Zach's wedding in April; when Andrea & I first began discussing her proposed trash-the-dress session, she initially requested that it include her new puppy, Sugar the papillion. The irony here is getting the dog washed means getting the dress dirty, OH YEAH!10081036img_178610171021100611064104010481073104310721082

Seal Beach "Polar" Plunge

This past weekend curiosity got the better of me and I showed up at the Seal Beach Polar Plunge. Part of me was curious, the other part wanted to do some more experimentation with my new camera, particularly shooting RAW. I shot exclusively in JPG before, but Kevin Kubota's seminar at the Pro Photo Expo last week kind of helped show me the light.

Have I mentioned that he's like one of my professional heroes? Yeah, if you ever wonder who inspires me...

I still can't shoot entirely in RAW yet because I don't have all the equipment necessary (I still need to acquire Adobe Bridge, about ten more CF cards, and another hard drive, hah), but for little things and portrait sessions, I am convinced that RAW's the way to go.

Anyway, there weren't that as many people there as I figured there'd be, and I didn't go crazy shooting, but someone did ask for my card, so I suppose it was worth it!

A diver leaped from a Coast Guard chopper to kick things off.

I suppose a lot of people would scoff at the "polar" Southern Californian water temperature of 54 degrees.

One of the groups sponsoring the event was the Seal Beach Police (a costumed member of which is pictured)

The Seal Beach Fire Dept. hosed down the participants as they emerged from the ocean.
